Alvaro Oscar Valencia

December 30, 1981 - September 15, 2021

September 15, 2021, Alvaro Oscar Valencia passed away. Alvaro had a fun spirit who liked to refer to himself as ‘AlvieBayBay.’ Alvaro was born December 30, 1981 in Sacramento, California. He lived most of his life in Fresno, California where he graduated from Fresno High School and attended Fresno City College.

While working at Hollywood Video, Al started a relationship with Rachel Hammond. In 2009 Al and Rachel were married. During his marriage to Rachel, Al became more focused on his relationship with Jesus Christ. Al and Rachel began attending church regularly and participated in a small group Bible study. For Al church became an extension of his family.

Al leaves behind a loving wife, Rachel, his mother, Maria Garcia, father Oscar Valencia, step-father Fernando Garcia and siblings, Jessica (Garcia) Martinez, Fernando R. Garcia, Sebastian Valencia and Palomo Valencia as well as his beloved ‘fur babies’ Clark Kent, Barbara Gordon and Eileen Roberts.

So, how would Al like to be remembered? In the words of his wife, Rachel, ‘Al was a romantic who believed in serendipity and true love. He treated everyone with care, kindness and fun. We are so happy we were able to share this life with him. Thank you, Alvaro. We will never forget you.’

Christine Smothers You will truly be misses Al. You always had the greatest smile no matter what was going on in your life, your smile lit up the room. I could see how much you loved and cherished your wife. Until we see you again in heaven, you will be greatly missed. With sympathy, Christine
