Charlie David Burris was born in Landis North Carolina to the parents of Etta and Green Thomas Burris on June 11, 1937 along side his twin brother Bill Burris. He was brother to a glorious 16 siblings. Charlie enlisted into the US Navy in 1956, where he served on the U.S.S. Catamount until his discharge in 1960. During that time while on leave he met the love of his Life Mary Hinman in Benicia, California. Charlie and Mary Wed February 8, 1958, and welcomed 5 beautiful children, Judith Burris, Tina Cook (David) David Burris, Kimberly Burris, and Randall Burris (Nicole). Charlie retired from Unical in 1994, and became full time Papa to his grandchildren, Mindy Aagaard, Amber Lancaster, Joshua Burris, Brittany Burris, Christopher Juell (Madison), Nicole Nichols(Eric), Sarah Maldonado, Nathan Burris, Kayla Burris, and Erina Cook. You could always find Charlie the first in line for school pick ups in his white and blue Van. He went on to be a great grandpapa to 17 great grandkids. He lived his life devoted to the Lord and walked in faith until the end. He was a proud member of The Gateway since 2005. Charlie was his happiest with one of his grandbabies in his arms singing "A Bushel And A Peck" by Doris Day. He was a devoted San Francisco 49ers and Giants fan loyal, even in the bad times. He loved his family more than Life its self. He will be dearly missed but we know he is with the Lord surrounded by family watching over his greatest accomplishments. 

Charlie is survived by his wife of 64 years Mary Hinman Burris, their 5 children, 10 grandchildren, and 17 great grandchildren. His Brother Larry Burris (Marlene), Herbert Burris (Barbara) and numerous nieces, and nephews. He preceded in death by his parents, and 14 of his siblings.
