Janice Eileen (Richter) Letz, 83, of Littleton, CO, passed away January 4, 2023.  She was born January 18, 1939 in Rexford, Kansas to Edwin Ernest Richter and Ella Lucy (Unger) Richter.

Jan grew up in Rexford, KS and was a 1957 graduate of Rexford High School.  As a child she was active in 4-H, involved in her school and loved growing up on the farm.

Jan went to Barnes Business College of Denver and graduated with a business degree.  She became an office manager at Lockheed Martin in Colorado.  She started going to church at Grace Lutheran and met Wesley Dean Letz at Walther League and were married on September 11, 1964.  Shortly after, they bought their first home and she became a homemaker.  

Jan and Wes were happily married for 58 years. They had never, in their whole marriage, spent more than a week away from each other until Summer of 2022 due to a hospital stay. She went to heaven just a few short weeks away from her 84th birthday,  so apparently, birthday parties are bigger and better in heaven!

She was the proud mother of 3 children, Tasha, Josh and Todd.  She was also blessed with 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Some of her favorite things to do were to host Sunday lunches for the family, enjoy “couples” nights with friends, drink tea and join in on as many conversations as she could.

Jan was also a master of solitaire. She had more wins than losses and humbly kept a tally of her wins in a notebook. Christmas was her favorite holiday and decorated to the hilt with box after box of decorations. She loved spending a week every summer up in Silverthorne with the extended family, where they would hike, eat, swim and eat some more! She loved God with all her heart, and we are so blessed to know that she is in the arms of her Savior in heaven.

Jan is survived by her husband, Wesley Dean Letz of Littleton, CO.  Her three children: Natasha Nicole (Letz) (George) Boser, Littleton, CO; Joshua Ashley Clayton Letz, Aurora, CO; and Todd Grayson (Patti) Letz, of Littleton, CO; 9 grandchildren (Emma, Isabella, Mia, Lila, Shyann, Devon, Damon, Saraya, Zoey) and 4 great-grandchildren (Lillyanna, Elliot, Luca, Jaxon).  She was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin Ernest Richter and Ella Lucy (Unger) Richter; her sister Karen (Richter) Roth; and daughter-in-law Mandy Letz.

Funeral services are being held Saturday, January 28, 2023 at 11:00 am at Living Savior Lutheran Church in Littleton, CO.  Jan’s ashes will be spread in a private family gathering at a later date.  Memorial contributions may be made to Living Savior Lutheran Church, 8050 West Coal Mine Ave, Littleton, CO 80123.
