Frank Adams

August 24, 1940 - October 01, 2023

Frank Adams, 83, passed on October 1, 2023, at his residence in Turlock, California. His life was marked by dedication to his family and his country.

Born to Elman Jasper Adams and Ruby Mae York in Mesa, Arizona, Frank graduated from Riverbank High School in 1958. His first marriage to Suzanne Edwards in Orlando, Florida, in 1960, brought forth sons Frank Scott and King George “Bo” Adams. In 1966, he married Carol Hardy in Notasulga, Alabama, with whom he had his son, Paul Kirk Adams, now living in Franklin, Tennessee.

He is survived by his son Paul (Kimberly); grandchildren Randall, Kelsey (Marcus), Charles (Kristina), Mark (Jesiree), Rayne, and Bailey; great-grandchildren Park, Shepard, Mason, Wren, and Wesley; as well as his nephews Keith and Daniel, cousin Delilah, and a host of other relatives.

Preceding him in death were his parents; sisters Geraldine and Alta; half-brothers Timothy and Tommy; spouses Suzanne and Carol; and sons Scott and Bo.

A U.S. Air Force veteran, Frank served as a Medic and Staff Sergeant. He earned degrees from California State University, Stanislaus, and the University of Alabama. Frank’s career as a Recreational Therapist at the Veterans Affairs was paralleled by his achievements in the arts, where his innovative abstract work was recognized in numerous Southeastern U.S. galleries.

An ardent Crimson Tide fan, Frank was also passionate about his garden of miniature roses, reading, and film. His greatest pride was in nurturing a family that continues to honor his principles.

A virtual celebration of Frank’s life is being planned. Contributions to the American Rose Society are welcomed in place of flowers.

Frank’s interment occurred at Nashville National Cemetery on February 16, 2024 (https://bit.ly/frank_adams_vlm).

Hazel Watkins Hazel Watkins, I was very sorry to hear of your fathers passing. Virgil Watkins, my late husband was cousins with Frank. They shared a lot of memories while we were in California, and Frank invited us to have breakfast with him before we headed back to Arizona. We had a great time visiting with him, and he cooked a great breakfast. He put Zuchinni and tomatoes in the scrambled eggs, which I had never tried. I learned that from him. They were excellent. Frank and I have remained friends through cards since that time, which was about 30 years ago. Again I'm sorry for your loss. Hazel Watkins
