Born in Everett, Washington on April 12th, 1947, Craig's early life was a tapestry of experiences, colored by the travels and changes brought by his father's service in the Air Force.
His academic pursuits led him to the ROTC at University of Colorado at Boulder, where he studied in the then-new field of Computer Science, graduating in 1968 with a degree that marked the start of a remarkable career. Furthering his education, Craig earned an MBA in Finance from the University of Southern California, demonstrating a lifelong commitment to learning and excellence.
Professionally, Craig started his own company as a visionary Systems Analyst, a role in which he shaped the technological landscapes of major corporations like Honda, Mazda, Nissan, and Toyota. His expertise was not just in demand in the corporate world but also served a crucial purpose during his service in the Air Force. As a dedicated Officer stationed in Manhattan Beach, CA, during the Vietnam War, Craig utilized his computer skills to aid in the war effort, was promoted to Captain and earned the affectionate title, "Captain Craigger."
But beyond his professional and military accolades, Craig was a man who embraced life with a zest that was contagious. His passion for boating, sailing and the ocean was a reflection of his adventurous spirit. He enjoyed being a long-time member of the King Harbor Yacht Club and his many friends there. A man of many talents, Craig was also an avid sports enthusiast, enjoying football, skiing, knee boarding, surfing, windsurfing, and golfing. His love for CU and USC football was a testament to his spirited nature, often playfully torn between loyalties.
