In Memoriam 

Gary Michael Long of Dixon, CA, passed away at age 61 in his home on December 9, 2023, after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by his wife and children who will continue to honor his legacy by living their lives to the fullest.

Gary was born in Poplar Bluff, MO on May 1, 1962, to Ivan Long and Betty Nelson Stokes. Gary attended Poplar Bluff High School. He worked as a truck driver for over 30 years. He met his wife, Shannon Long, at Good Spirits karaoke club in Salt Lake City, UT in 1997. They were married on May 1, 1999. 

The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Gary. He loved going camping, brewing beer, singing karaoke, and spending time with his loved ones. Gary was a devoted husband and father who, along with his wife, raised two beautiful daughters.

Gary is survived by his wife, Shannon Long, his daughters Kathryn Long and Joanna Long, his mother, Betty Stokes, his brothers Steve Long, Billy Long, and Steve Stokes, and his sister Margie, and numerous cousins, nephews, and nieces. He was predeceased by his father, Ivan Long, and his sister, Dodi Burnett.
