James (Jim) Richard Parrott

August 15, 1947 - January 27, 2024

James Richard Parrott passed away peacefully, at the age of 76, on January 27th, 2024, in his home. He was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend, who never failed to brighten the lives of others with either his heart of gold or a bad “dad joke.” He leaves behind his wife, Bettina, daughter, Ashley, and sisters, Susan Haas (Marin County) and Barbara Williams (Oklahoma).

Born in Buffalo, New York, Jim grew up in Muncie, Indiana where he made everlasting friendships, and pursued his love of music for many years playing drums in three bands, including December's Children. He later moved to Marin County, California where he started his business in the office product industry and later in the automotive industry.

Though his departure from the physical world has left us heartbroken, we find peace in knowing he is no longer suffering and has reunited with his parents, Fred and Virginia Parrott, his nephew, James Williams, and his beloved dog - his golden retriever, Shannon.

As per Jim’s request, no funeral or memorial service will be held.

J Michael Henderson I truly miss Jim already! I can very much remember working with Jim performing in December's Children. What a great guy to know and to play in a band with! Never any problems with Jim at all. In fact, Jim was always on the ball and ready to go at all times! Always smiling and keeping the rhythm for us all of us to groove with. And this was all back in 1968, 56 years ago, but in many ways seems as though it were yesterday! I can hear Jim's laughter right now for Jim always had such a light and happy presence; one that was a joy to be around. My deepest respects to Jim's wife and daughter and sisters' Susie and Barbara and entire family... The world is emptier without Jim's presence for he will be missed...
