JAMES L. "LARRY" HART
October 26, 1951 - February 9, 2024

James Lawrence "Larry" Hart died at his home in Daly City, Calif., on February 9, 2024. He was 72 years old.

Larry was born to Francis C. and Betty Lee Dunn Hart in 1951, at St. Alphonsus Hospital in Boise, Idaho, as the sixth of eight children. He was educated at St. Joseph's Elementary School and North Junior High School and graduated from Boise High School in 1969.
Larry was a lifelong member of Local 291 of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, headquartered in his hometown, where he was certified as an Inside Journeyman Wireman in 1976. He spent most of his adult life in and around the San Francisco Bay area, earning his 50-year pin in November 2020. He lent his talents to a variety of challenging projects, including the maintenance and expansion of San Francisco International Airport, as a contractor through IBEW Local 595 in Dublin and Local 617 in San Mateo.

His intellectual curiosity was voracious, making him an avid reader and deep thinker. He was an accomplished photographer, focusing frequently on his family and the denizens and features of the City by the Bay. Larry was a lifelong fan of all forms of the Blues, locally brewed craft beer, and the San Francisco Giants.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents and older siblings, Mary Ann Hart Seitz (Bob), Kathryn Marie Hart Hopkins (Melvin), Thomas William Hart (Rosemary Small), and Gerald Francis Hart (Judy Anderson). He is survived by his brothers, Timothy John Hart (Geri Willingham) and John Frederick Hart (Connie Boie); his youngest sister, Carol Jean Hart; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

It is Larry's wish that, in lieu of flowers or gifts, contributions supporting the apprenticeship and certification of new electricians be made to IBEW Local 291, 225 N. 16th St., Suite 110, Boise, Idaho 83702.

Larry's family are making plans to celebrate his life in early summer in San Francisco. Once finalized, details will be shared through IBEW Locals 291, 595 and 617 and in the comments attached to his Legacy.com obituary. [See below.]

Anyone wishing to share thoughts or memories of time together with Larry or interested in participating in his celebration of life is invited to post them on his memorial page at Legacy.com https://www.legacy.com/us/obituaries/local/california/daly-city
