Byron Kenneth Walker, 50 of Valencia, California passed away Thursday, June 13, 2024 in Los Angeles. He is survived by his wife of 24 years Anne Walker (nee Benke); his 3 cats Molly, Teddy, and Pajamas; his cousin Tracy Owens; and two sisters, two brothers, 3 nephews, and 2 nieces. 

He was preceded in death by his mother Hannelore Walker, deceased 2018, his father Jon Walker, deceased 2020, and his beloved cat Milton, deceased 2023. 

Born May 9, 1974 and raised in Stockton, California, Byron was the first in his immediate family to graduate college, earning his BA in psychology in 2003 from California State University Northridge. He then worked for 18 years with the Department of Children and Family Services in Los Angeles County, devoting his time and energy to the well-being of the children under his care. 

He was an avid gamer, a news junkie, and a devoted catdad.  He loved San Francisco Giants baseball, the Rolling Stones, and Ice Cube (IYKYK).

Tamara Diamond I had the pleasure of working alongside Byron at DCFS for years . He was kind, pleasant and so bright . I truly enjoyed chatting with Byron and lending mutual support to one another in navigating the challenges of working for DCFS. I remember being struck by what an articulate writer Byron was . I am so sad to hear of his passing . I want to extend my sincere and deep felt condolences to his wife Anne . Byron will certainly be missed .
