Joan C Pool

August 03, 1935 - July 20, 2024

Joan Carlis Pool left this world peacefully on the evening of July 20th, 2024, just 2 weeks short of her 89th birthday.

Joan resided in beautiful Northern, CA amidst the vineyards, ancient redwoods and Pacific Ocean for the latter years of her life, alongside her beloved children. There she enjoyed visiting with her friends near and far. Sharp as a tack, she was an avid reader and kept up on all things newsworthy worldwide. She loved the gorgeous flora and fauna of her new home in CA. She wrote personal letters and visited with far away friends and family via phone calls almost every day which gave her immense joy. Always a devout Baptist, she practiced daily with support and comradery from her many local friends who visited her.

Joan was born and raised in Albany, Missouri, where she will be interred at Grandview Cemetery next to her husband of 50 years, Charles Pool.

Joan Pool was formerly Joan Butler. The daughter of Luna and Pauline Butler and sister to Eddie Butler. Joan loved living in the small town atmosphere of Albany and had a great many memories of childhood friends, cousins and neighbors as she grew up there. Her father was a politician who served the Missouri Legislature for eighteen years. Her mother was a dedicated homemaker and supportive of Joan’s fathers’ career working on his may campaigns. Joan was extremely active and sociable. She was very involved in school band and sports. She enjoyed many jobs working in the community and spending time with family and friends.

Joan built a life she loved. She met and married Charles Pool in 1956. His upbringing of living by the Ocean was new and fascinating. They enjoyed movies and music together. Through their marriage they frequently moved for work, so she got to experience many different places. She was a dedicated mother and wife while serving the communities they settled into. She kept busy with church activities and traveling with her husband until his passing. She always wanted the people in her life to remember that they made her very content and she values the love that they have given her.

“My purpose in life has been my family and friends. I want to thank them for their love and generosity throughout my life. My prayer is that they have happy and successful lives. I love you endlessly. ”
Joan Pool

She is preceded in death by her husband, Charlie and her daughter Kim. She is survived by her son, Tracy and daughter-in-law Michelle as well as her grandchildren Jackson and Ellie.

Joan was dearly loved by all who knew her, bringing  a joyous and positive spirit to daily life. She will be GREATLY missed by all.
