It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Daryl Keith Roach, who died in Los Angeles, California, on December 6, 2024, at the age of 75. Daryl was born in Brooklyn, New York, on June 20, 1949, to his late father, Max Roach, and his mother, Mildred Roach.
Daryl graduated from Erasmus High School in Brooklyn in 1967 and attended Monmouth College in Illinois. He later made his mark in Hollywood as an actor and was a member of SAG-AFTRA. For many years, Daryl appeared in numerous commercials, daytime television shows, movies, and plays, captivating audiences with his talent and charisma. His contributions to the entertainment world will be remembered by those who worked with him and those who admired his performances.
Daryl was a true people magnet. From the moment he met someone, it felt as though he'd known them for a lifetime. He had an incredible ability to make people feel seen and heard, effortlessly drawing others in with his warmth and charm. Daryl’s natural talent for connecting with others made him the kind of person everyone wanted to be around. Whether he was telling a story, cracking a joke, or simply sharing a moment, he was always the center of fun and laughter. His vibrant personality and undeniable showmanship were unmatched, and it’s this infectious spirit that will be missed most by those who were fortunate enough to know him.
In addition to his work in entertainment and vibrant personality, he was also known for his kindness, and his love for his family. He was a beloved brother to his siblings, Maxine Roach, Raoul Roach, Ayo Roach, and Dara Roach. He is also survived by his cherished nieces, Maxe Hinds and Skye Sheffield, and his nephews, Kyle Roach and Kadar Roach. Daryl was a loving godfather to Niko Delgado, who held a special place in his heart.
He is further survived by his uncles, Robert Wilkinson and Ernest Wilkinson (Barbara Bell), who provided him with guidance and love throughout his life. He is predeceased by uncles, Thomas Wilkinson, Milton Wilkinson (Julia) and Bernard Wilkinson (Bertha).
Daryl’s legacy also lives on through his close-knit Los Angeles family, a group of dear friends who became extended family members over the years. He is survived by Nancy Fasules, Tina Hansen, Peter Anton, Jose Dias, Diana Buckhantz, Craig Damon, Cliff aka Gallant Taylor, Keith Cokes, Stanley Pearlberg, Bill Jarrett, Tierney Sutton, Paul Walling, Katrina O’Gilvie and many others who were an integral part of his life. His passing is deeply mourned by a host of cousins living in Atlanta, Brooklyn, North Carolina, other relatives, and friends who will miss him dearly.
Though he will be deeply missed, his memory will live on through his family and friends, who were touched by his warmth, humor, and generosity.
In accordance with his wishes, Daryl will be cremated at Tulip Crematorium in Los Angeles. A memorial service will be held in the spring of 2025, with plans for gatherings in both Los Angeles and New York to celebrate his life.
Daryl’s passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew him, but his spirit will continue to inspire those who were fortunate to have shared moments with him. May he rest in peace.
